27 October 2026 — Forms & Campaigns in Pro 1.3.0 and Free 1.1.3
Forms & Campaigns is included with every Pro and Agency plan. Free 1.1.3 updates its informational Add-ons & Upgrade catalog; its lookup and content rules are unchanged.
- Create up to 50 private campaigns, each with a required default and up to 20 disjoint country variants. Select an existing published Formidable form or a native offer card for each experience.
- Save paused, preview a country decision, activate, then place
in a Shortcode block with the actual campaign ID. Unknown or unmatched countries use the default; an unavailable variant form also falls back. - Formidable retains form fields, consent, validation, anti-spam, entries and configured actions. WPLocation adds no visitor IP or lead log. Native offers work without Formidable or WooCommerce.
- Isolated WordPress 7.1.3 and PHP 8.3.33 checks with Formidable Forms 7.0 covered country selection, form rendering and a real form submission, fallback, unsafe URL/overlap rejection, admin HTTP save and exact ZIP upgrades. Pages request no-store; upstream caches still need site-specific bypass or variation.
Read Forms & Campaigns and the setup guide. The pending WordPress.org Free 1.0.0 submission remains separate.
27 October 2026 — WooCommerce Markets in Pro 1.2.0 and Free 1.1.2
WooCommerce Markets is included in Pro for every Pro and Agency plan with no second add-on purchase. Free 1.1.2 refreshes its Add-ons & Upgrade catalog; lookup, database updates and country rules are unchanged.
- Pro: create up to 50 non-overlapping country markets with optional plain-text regional shop messages and up to four featured product links. Existing product and category restrictions still apply.
- Checkout: optionally narrow already-enabled payment gateways by billing country and configured shipping rates by package destination. Classic and Store API checkout reject stale disallowed choices. WooCommerce remains responsible for prices, taxes, currencies, shipping zones and settlement.
- Safety: new markets start paused; invalid or overlapping active data closes affected methods until repaired. Saved market changes invalidate the WooCommerce shipping-rate cache. Personalized shop pages send no-store headers, but upstream caches need store-specific bypass or variation.
- Testing: isolated WordPress 7.1.3, WooCommerce 11.2.1 and PHP 8.3.33 integration covered gateway/rate filtering, checkout rejection, overlap, malformed rules and paused state. Custom gateways, checkout extensions, multi-package destinations and real CDN behavior still require staging tests.
See WooCommerce Markets and the setup guide. The pending WordPress.org Free 1.0.0 submission remains separate.
27 October 2026 — Geo Redirects in Pro 1.1.0 and Free 1.1.1
Geo Redirects is now included inside WPLocation Pro for every Pro and Agency plan. No separate add-on license or country-lookup credits are required. The Free 1.1.1 update refreshes its Add-ons & Upgrade catalog; it does not change lookup, rule, updater or database behavior.
- Pro: page-to-page country routes with include/exclude audiences, priority, preview, loop protection, a 30-day visitor choice and temporary HTTP 302 responses.
- Safety: only published standard pages on the same site are endpoints. Unknown countries stay on the original page; WooCommerce purchase checks remain independent. Active source pages send no-store headers, but upstream caches need explicit configuration.
- Delivery: Pro 1.1.0 uses the existing licensed Pro update path. Existing installed rules continue working after license expiry; updates and support require an active entitlement.
- Testing: isolated WordPress 7.1.3/PHP 8.3/WooCommerce 11.2.1 integration, HTTP, admin, mobile/desktop and 1.0.0-to-1.1.0 Pro upgrade checks passed. Cache and CDN behavior must be tested on each site.
See Geo Redirects and the setup guide. The pending WordPress.org Free 1.0.0 submission remains separate and unchanged.
27 October 2026 — Free 1.1.0 and Pro 1.0.0
The compatible Free and licensed Pro releases are available directly from wplocation.com. WordPress.org review remains pending and is separate.
- Free: country audiences, block, shortcodes, diagnostics and optional MaxMind setup. No bundled database or DB-IP integration.
- Pro: WooCommerce product/category audiences, catalog/cart/checkout country checks, one-site and five-site annual licenses, and protected updates.
- Legacy upgrade: use Upgrade Assistant 1.0.0 with a current licensed private GeoLite2 database before replacing standalone Free 1.0.0. Unprepared standard WordPress upgrades are blocked while the assistant is active.
- Store: compatible Free download, licensed Pro downloads, annual Stripe subscriptions and customer account management.
Initial tested scope: WordPress 6.8.3 and 7.1.3, WooCommerce 11.2.1, PHP 8.3, single-site. See installation, upgrade and compatibility notes.
Website navigation and account update — 27 October 2026
The website now has a dedicated noindex customer login page, an Account Downloads view and a simpler header. The WPLocation wordmark is rendered as an image through the Genesis child theme; Account appears before the highlighted Get WPLocation menu item. The separate header action and older CSS-based logo and Demo menu button were removed. This is a website update; the Free and Pro plugin packages and their versions did not change.
Website header alignment — 27 October 2026
Genesis child theme 1.1.10 balances the public header spacing so the logo, menu and Get WPLocation button align vertically, fine-tunes the mobile menu icon and keeps the checkout logo centered. The Free and Pro plugin packages and versions are unchanged.
Public demo wording — 27 October 2026
The live country check on the Demo page now names WPLocation as the detector in its status and IP lookup note. This website-only copy update does not change the Free or Pro plugin packages or versions.
WordPress.org guidance on DB-IP — 27 October 2026
The WordPress Plugins Team replied to my attribution question. A DB-IP source that only works when WPLocation displays a required public footer credit would not meet guideline 10, even with separate consent. Free 1.1.0 and the pending directory ZIP already exclude DB-IP. The team did not interpret DB-IP’s license for APIs, feeds or footerless themes; those questions need DB-IP or appropriate legal advice. See the updated DB-IP availability guide.
The team said “WP” is discouraged but not automatically prohibited. The WPLocation name and wplocation slug still await a decision during full plugin review. It also warned that future directory updates using this slug could replace earlier standalone installations, so a higher directory version needs a tested legacy upgrade path.

WordPress.org submission update — 27 October 2026
Under review, not yet released: I uploaded a revised WPLocation – Geolocation and Country Rules package to WordPress.org for review. The assigned directory slug is wplocation. Approval and a public directory download are still pending.
- The submitted 1.0.0 package has post, page and category country rules, a visibility block and shortcodes, Settings, Diagnostics and an Activity Log.
- It uses a local GeoLite2 Country database that you supply. Optional downloads use your own MaxMind account. When GeoLite is enabled, this product uses GeoLite Data created by MaxMind, available from MaxMind. DB-IP is excluded while its attribution requirements are reviewed.
- The first directory release keeps version 1.0.0 so existing standalone 1.0.0 installations are not offered an unattended replacement. Manual migration still requires a backup and a current licensed database.
- The latest review ZIP (revision 3) fixes the MaxMind Settings checkbox layout and adds setup documentation links. The exact ZIP passed focused checks on isolated WordPress 6.8.3 and 7.1.3 sites. A current GeoLite2 Country file downloaded from MaxMind passed its published SHA-256 check, real country lookups and public rule rendering; updater failure tests used simulated network responses. Plugin Check 2.1.0 reports zero errors and three warnings concerning “WP” in the requested name or slug.
- New illustrated guides explain free MaxMind GeoLite2 Country setup and DB-IP Country Lite and its attribution requirement. DB-IP was a website-preview option and is excluded from the WordPress.org submission and Free 1.1.0 release.
- WordPress.org banner and icon artwork is prepared for publication after directory approval.
The directory submission is separate from the website release. Development builds below are retained as historical notes.
Website preview history
These versioned builds are development previews, not separate public releases. At the time of these previews, the public customer download remained version 1.0.0.
1.1.0-dev.6
Website preview: This development build was installed on wplocation.com for testing. It has not been released on WordPress.org and is not yet the public download.
- Made the active country database source prominent in Settings, including a clear warning when a DB-IP file is selected but attribution consent is off.
- Added explicit DB-IP and MaxMind first-download and source-switch actions. Failed validation keeps the previous source. Successful switches retain the previous file and turn off automatic updates until the new provider is checked and enabled.
- Moved the accessible page title outside the admin banner so WordPress notices appear in their normal position.
- Added an Add-ons & Upgrade page showing Free features and clearly labelled Pro preview and planned integrations. Amazon Associates, Impact, EDD and CloudFront are not connected in this build.
- Updated the website header: the mobile menu control stays inside the viewport, Get WPLocation stays separate, and signed-in visitors see My Account.
DB-IP attribution review, direct unattended upgrades from 1.0.0 and broader cache and compatibility checks remain open. The public customer download was not replaced.
1.1.0-dev.5
Website preview: This development build was installed on wplocation.com for testing. It has not been released on WordPress.org and is not yet the public download.
- Rebuilt post, page and category visibility editing around three clear audiences: Everyone, Only selected countries and Everywhere except selected countries.
- Added searchable country selection with removable choices and a live explanation of the current audience. An active restriction now needs at least one country before it can be saved.
- Made the saved-result check use a country-name selector. For posts, it now includes assigned category rules and shows those rules alongside the editor.
- Clarified rule lists and improved the editor at small screen widths.
The WPLocation-managed data service discussed in the product plan is not part of this preview. DB-IP attribution guidance, safe direct upgrades from 1.0.0 and broader compatibility work remain open.
1.1.0-dev.4
Website preview: This development build was installed on wplocation.com for testing. It has not been released on WordPress.org and is not yet the public download.
- Moved WPLocation into its own left sidebar menu above Appearance, with separate Settings, Diagnostics and Activity Log pages.
- Made Diagnostics a short health view with database status, update schedule, a private IP lookup test and cache guidance.
- Refreshed the overview, category, page, post and shortcode screens. Country rules now use searchable checkboxes and clearer show or hide choices.
- Added an optional form for site administrators to save their own MaxMind account ID and license key. Values in wp-config.php still take priority. Saved keys are not encrypted in the WordPress database and can appear in backups.
- Added an administrator-only activity history for recent update and setting results. It does not record visitor IPs, test IPs, file paths or license keys.
DB-IP attribution guidance from the WordPress.org review team, safe direct upgrades from 1.0.0 without preparation, and broader cache compatibility remain under review.
1.1.0-dev.3
Website preview: This development build was installed on wplocation.com for testing. It has not been released on WordPress.org and is not yet a production download.
- Added machine-readable DB-IP provider and license links to WordPress REST responses and RSS2 and Atom feeds when the DB-IP source and attribution are enabled.
Site owners must check attribution for their own themes and integrations. Upgrade compatibility and WordPress.org review remain in progress.
1.1.0-dev.2
Website preview: This earlier development build was installed on wplocation.com for testing. It has not been released on WordPress.org and is not yet a production download.
- Added an administrator-only local IP address test in Diagnostics.
- Added a country flag option to the country shortcode, with a label for assistive technology.
- Improved REST editing compatibility for authorized editors while keeping public country rules in place.
- Added guidance for preserving a current country database before upgrading version 1.0.0.
The preview does not provide WooCommerce product targeting or a configurable forbid message. Upgrade compatibility and WordPress.org review remain in progress.

- Added a setup overview and diagnostics for the local country database.
- Improved country rules for posts, pages and categories, and added a country display shortcode and a country visibility block.
- Added optional DB-IP Country Lite setup and scheduled database checks, with public attribution consent. MaxMind updates remain optional and require an account.
