Agency Toolkit: move reviewed country rules
Use Agency Toolkit to move saved country audiences from staging to another WordPress site. The two sites must already contain matching published content. It is a manual, supervised transfer: no remote login or cross-site connection is stored.
Before you start
- Install and activate current WPLocation Free, Pro and Agency Toolkit on both sites. Activate WooCommerce on both if you will move product or product-category rules.
- Confirm the same content exists on the destination under the same path or slug. The import does not create posts, pages, categories or products.
- Take a full destination database backup and note how to restore it. Test through your page or CDN cache after applying.
Export and compare
- On staging, open WPLocation → Agency Toolkit and select Download rules JSON.
- Keep the JSON file private. It contains content paths, slugs and country audiences, even though it contains no credentials or visitor records.
- On the destination, open the same Toolkit screen, upload the file and select Review changes. Inspect every row: object, current rule and imported rule.
- If any target is absent, duplicated or invalid, nothing is applied. Fix the content or rule and make a new export.
Apply and restore
Confirm that you reviewed the changes and have a backup, then apply. A preview expires after 15 minutes and is rejected if destination rules changed meanwhile. The import updates only objects in the file; it does not remove destination-only rules. The screen records the administrator ID, UTC time, source URL and number of changed rules for recent apply and restore actions.
Restore last import returns just those rules to their prior values. It refuses to overwrite an imported rule that someone edited afterward. For full-site recovery or older imports, use your own database backup. Verify allowed, blocked and unknown countries, your WooCommerce storefront and cache behavior after every import.
What moves in 1.0.1?
Saved country audiences for published WordPress posts, pages, post categories, WooCommerce products and product categories. The export normalizes country names and ISO codes to two-letter codes. Object IDs are never used for matching between sites.
Content bodies, Geo Redirects, WooCommerce Markets, Forms & Campaigns, Geo Analytics, MaxMind credentials, plugin settings, orders and form entries are excluded. WordPress multisite network-wide operations and automatic remote deployment are not included. The Toolkit ZIP is distributed through eligible account downloads; install future Toolkit versions manually from your account. Local country lookups do not use WPLocation credits.
See Pro installation and licensing, cache guidance and the add-on overview.
Contact WPLocation with your software versions and the result you expected. Keep keys and customer data private.
