WooCommerce Markets is included in WPLocation Pro 1.2.0. Keep WPLocation Free 1.1.0 or newer and WooCommerce active. No second add-on ZIP or license is needed.

Before you start

  1. Back up the store and test on staging with your current theme, checkout, gateways and shipping setup.
  2. In WPLocation → Settings, configure a current, licensed private GeoLite2 Country database. Confirm a known test IP in Diagnostics.
  3. In WooCommerce, enable the payment gateways and shipping zone methods you intend to offer. Markets can only narrow these methods.

Create a market

  1. Open WPLocation → WooCommerce Markets and give the market a private name.
  2. Choose one or more countries. An active country can belong to only one market.
  3. Optionally enter a short plain-text message for the shop and product pages. Search for up to four published featured products. Products hidden by Pro rules will not be featured.
  4. Leave payment and shipping set to “Use all” or select “Allow only” and check the configured methods you want to keep. At least one method is required for an allow list.
  5. Save the market paused. Preview a matching country and a country outside the market. Activate after checking the results.

How checkout decides

Store messages and featured products use the visitor’s country estimated by Free’s local IP database. Payment gateway availability uses the billing country entered at checkout. Shipping-rate availability uses each WooCommerce package destination country. Markets only remove options that WooCommerce already offers; it never creates a gateway, rate or zone. Classic and block checkout reject a stale choice if an address change makes it disallowed.

WooCommerce and your specialist extensions remain responsible for prices, currencies, taxes, shipping costs and settlement. Markets does not convert currencies or override tax rules. Product and category country restrictions in Pro continue to apply independently.

Test and troubleshoot

  • Check allowed and excluded countries with real billing and shipping addresses in classic and block checkout. Test cart address changes, order payment and guest checkout on staging.
  • If a method disappears, check that it is enabled in WooCommerce and allowed in the market. For shipping, confirm the destination matches a WooCommerce zone and its rate is enabled.
  • If a market cannot activate, look for another active market containing one of its countries. Pause or edit the other market first.
  • Personalized shop and product pages send no-store headers when they show market copy, but a CDN or full-page cache may answer before WordPress. Bypass or vary those pages and keep checkout uncached. Purge and test through the actual cache.

Initial verified scope: single-site WordPress 7.1.3, PHP 8.3 and WooCommerce 11.2.1 with standard BACS/COD gateways and flat/free shipping. Custom gateway or shipping extensions, multi-package destinations, multilingual stores and full-page caches need store-specific testing.
