A product must pass its own rule and every applicable category rule. A product rule cannot override a category restriction.

A familiar WordPress setup

- Set up WPLocation Free. Configure a current GeoLite2 Country database with your MaxMind account or licensed private file.
- Install Pro and activate your license. Keep Free and Pro active. WooCommerce is needed for store controls; Formidable is needed for form experiences. Your receipt includes the Pro ZIP and key.
- Save a rule and test your store. Check allowed, denied and unknown countries, then verify your cart, checkout and cache configuration. For regional pages, open WPLocation → Geo Redirects and preview a paused rule before activation.

Why buy Pro if Free already detects countries?
Free controls WordPress posts, pages, post categories and content sections. Pro adds WooCommerce product/category checks, Geo Redirects, WooCommerce Markets and Forms & Campaigns. Form experiences need Formidable; native offers do not need WooCommerce or Formidable. Both plugins use the same local country source.
Do I pay for each country lookup?
Local country lookups do not consume WPLocation credits. You configure your own supported, licensed GeoLite2 Country source in Free. A database, managed lookup credits and services with separate running costs are not included in the Pro plugin.
Are the Pro and Agency features different?
No. Both use the same Pro plugin. Choose a one-site or five-site license based on the number of websites you need to cover. Choose monthly, yearly or lifetime access in the plans below.
What do the lifetime packages include?
Pro Lifetime covers one website, and WPLocation Lifetime covers five. Both include current and future WPLocation add-on software for their covered sites when released. Credits and services with their own running costs are separate. Geo Redirects, WooCommerce Markets and Forms & Campaigns are included in Pro today; other add-ons remain planned.
What happens if a subscription expires?
Installed targeting rules continue working while both Free and Pro remain active. An active license is required for Pro updates and support. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew until cancelled; manage future renewals in My Account.
What should I check before installing?
You need WordPress 6.8+, PHP 8.3+ and Free 1.1.0+. WooCommerce is needed for store features; Formidable is needed for form experiences. Initial tests cover WordPress 6.8.3 and 7.1.3, WooCommerce 11.2.1 and PHP 8.3 on single-site installations. Test your theme, gateways and page/CDN caches on staging. Caches can bypass WordPress; broader multisite and custom checkout/API compatibility is not promised.
Unknown countries cannot access restricted products. IP geolocation is approximate and is not a security boundary or proof of legal residence. Read installation and upgrade guidance.
